These are my everyday range of coloured bowls, made in open grain timbers including Ash, Elm, Oak and Sweet Chestnut. I make these bowls in open and enclosed forms.
The finish has been applied to the timber to give a ceramic/stone appearance. These turned items are generally scrubbed, coloured and limed to pronounce the grain. The grain selection is particularly important to achieve a balanced appearance to this type of work. Options include:
- Coloured and with an ebonised interior
- Coloured and with natural timber on interior usually with burnt rim.
- Sizes – from – 100mm diameter x 40mm height
