Colin will be exhibiting with the select group of craftspeople from the Sussex Guild at Michelham Priory. This long established event has happened for the last 50 years since the formation of the Sussex Guild! – Usually a few selected guest exhibitors will also be displaying their work.
Work is available to be purchased in the Elizabethan Great Barn and in the marquees on the lawns of the main gardens.
This Guild event is a bit different to other shows because there are some craft demonstrations, including a blacksmith at his forge, wood turning, embroidery, quilting and enamelling together with several potters showing different aspects of their craft. There is also the opportunity to have a go at throwing a pot on the potter’s wheel!
Michelham Priory has England’s longest medieval moat surrounding seven acres of beautiful grounds. A kitchen garden, medieval herb garden, working watermill, replica Bronze Age roundhouse and children’s play area are some of the features of this unique setting. There is also a new interactive gallery in the gatehouse. Find out more about the Augustinian Priory when you visit the historic house with its Tudor kitchen. There is free parking, shop, café and picnic area.
