The Location
West Horsley Place is a Grade I listed medieval manor house and estate of great beauty and historic significance. The manor house dates from 1425, though there has been a building on site since Saxon times. The house is currently on Historic England’s Heritage At Risk Register and along with the outbuildings is in a very bad state of repair.
The Mary Roxburghe Trust aims to restore the house, gardens, 380-acre estate and 8 Grade II listed outbuildings to create a vibrant centre for the performing and visual arts and the teaching of crafts. After 1000 years of private ownership West Horsley Place will be reborn as a place for everyone to enjoy, whether as a visitor to the house or garden or as a student learning a new craft. There is a great history to be discovered, and a new role for this grand old house to play in its community.
Sunninghill Artisan Craft Fair – 30th November 2024.
I am excited to be invited to the last Artisan Craft Fair of 2024 – 30th November 2024 being held in Sunninghill (Berkshire) – this is the last event in a series of four events that are taking place in 2024 at this location.
This event takes place in the centre of the village – so take in the ambiance!
A relatively new event to me – having exhibited here on 3 occasions in 2023 …….. but also showing at all the events in 2024
A new location to show my work – although some of you will come across me at some of the bigger shows I take part in……..
Only one day to admire and make your decision with the pieces on display…….?
Yes I do sell online and you could purchase at another event – however most pieces are one – off……. The piece of timber definitely is unique!
– so better to purchase the piece that takes your liking.
With some of the events I attend – showing amongst well over one hundred fellow exhibitors and seeing over twenty five thousand visitors.
I will be within a group of less than 20 other exhibitors – who also entirely make their living from their chosen artisan craft.
This will be very much a more relaxed atmosphere – whether you wish to ask questions, make an inquiry, commission a special piece, ask about my bespoke wood turning courses or maybe just take in the variety of work on display……

Midhurst 2024 with The Sussex Guild
This is Colin’s last show of 2024. (or is it? – my showroom is open or take a trip to Chichester Artisan Gallery)
A local show which I have always enjoyed as the largest event The Sussex Guild holds with around 60 exhibitors…….
Having shown at Ardingly College with The Sussex Guildin June, this will be my second event with The Sussex Guild this year.
Taking place in Midhurst at The Rother College – this Midhurst event is well established (over 20 years I believe!) – Used to take place in Capron House (now South Downs Authority offices) and the Memorial Hall
Once again highly-skilled designer-makers from Sussex and the adjoining counties – will provide
a colourful feast of creativity to brighten the dark days of winter.
The show is perfectly timed for Christmas shopping, with almost sixty members of The Sussex Guild showing their beautiful and varied work, visitors will be spoilt for choice.
The Venue
The show will be taking place in several easily accessible areas – The Theatre, the Main Foyer and the cafe area.
The café within the show area will provide light refreshments throughout the weekend while you think about your purchases.
More substantial fare can be found in the cafés, hotels and pubs in this delightful medieval town.
Once in Midhurst
Ample numbers of road signs will guide visitors through the town, into the wide drive leading to the College car park.
Access is level throughout and a disabled parking area is situated between the sports hall and the main building. Tarmac paths lead to the show entrance.
